About our mission

The Giving Spirits Foundation is a public foundation created by Monyka Berrocosa, founder of The Women’s Wine & Dine® and CEO of MyCity4Her™. The foundation is a formal way to continue the fundraising and awareness efforts provided by the WW&D since early 2004 - to worthy fledgling, grass roots causes in the community.

Over the 3 years since the WW&D was created – upwards of $40,000 (mostly in cash but also in kind) has been provided to a variety of worthy causes in the Baltimore and Delaware area.

In an effort to further this mission and continue this important work, the Giving Spirits Foundation is committed to supplying critical visibility and financial support. This support will be extended particularly to grass roots organizations lacking the necessary resources to gain visibility and raise funds that larger more established organizations may have.

 Though there is a wealth of worthy organizations and it is hard to single out whom to choose to support – the Giving Spirits Foundation has determined that it will focus the majority of its efforts on providing this assistance primarily to organizations servicing the needs of disadvantaged women, children and families.

The Foundation’s Advisory Board, which was formed to produce guidance and assist with key projects and the foundation’s overall mission includes:
Jenny Trostel, Owner Saab of Hunt Valley, Martha Meehan, Financial Advisor with Merrill Lynch & Joanne Trempe.

Primary funding for the foundation comes from donations from The Women’s Wine & Dine® event series, portion of profits from MyCity4Her™ as well as corporate and private donations.
